We had so much fun at SPL! It's like going back to the 80s and going to summer camp, in the best way possible! The lake is the best swimming lake we've been to in BC. The food was fantastic. The beach sauna was amazing. So much to do and see. Can't wait to go back!

Went here for a school outdoor education 3 night stay and my group’s leader was very kind and supportive when I was going through a hard time. Canoe trip to our outdoor campout was very wet and cold, but was very fun. Great rooms and lots of fun activities. Would recommend! 4 stars (I would give it a 4.5 if that was an option)

My fiancé and I stayed at the Strathcona Park Lodge for three nights, and we absolutely loved every second of our stay here. We opted for a private room in the lodge (74-Lakeview) with our own washroom and shared deck space overlooking the lake. The amenities here are incredible! We rented canoes and paddled Upper Campbell lake, stopping to explore an island before canoeing back. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming, and the wood fired sauna is heavenly. We felt like we were at a summer camp for grownups and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was a memorable experience which will forever live on in our hearts. The only feedback we have would be that the dinner experience was a bit awkward with guests being treated differently than staff/other lodgers. We had to give our name for the reservation when we arrived, which is fair, but then table service (to bring over drinks) was offered at the same time as a self-serve buffet style dinner. We would much prefer to just pay one flat fee for dinner, serve ourselves, sit with others and make new friends, as opposed to what felt like what was trying to be a “traditional” restaurant experience. However, the servers and hosts were kind and thoughtful and gave great recommendations for where to adventure in the area! That being said, we’re sure there are many other guests that love dinner service the way it is! (The food itself was delicious btw!) Those are just our thoughts and personal experiences. Either way we will be singing the praises of the Strathcona Park Lodge forever!!

That summer, right here, we spent an absolutely incredible month together! The coaches were not only super skilled but also downright adorable—they led our teen group deep into the breathtaking lakes and mountains, where so many 'firsts' in life happened. We faced tons of challenges, pushed through tough moments, but came out richer: with new knowledge, skills, buckets of joy, a sense of achievement, and even fresh discoveries about ourselves. A huge shoutout to **Strathcona Outdoor Center**—and to the amazing coaches and staff who made it all possible! "

Just got back from the most incredible stay at this little slice of paradise—an eco lodge run by an amazing couple who pour so much love and care into making their guests feel special. The food? Absolutely next level—fresh, delicious, thoughtful. The property is stunning—a total dream. Every corner of the accommodations is well thought out and cozy without sacrificing style or comfort. There’s a wood-fired sauna right on the beach (yes, please), kayaks and canoes to explore the lake, peaceful firepits, and hikes that’ll knock your socks off. Seriously, every trail felt like it came out of a movies And the hospitality? Bar none. Warm, down-to-earth, and genuine. You can really feel the care and pride that’s gone into their lodge. Thank you so much Tina and Jamie!

I didn’t stay a night here, but camped down the road and came through a couple times while exploring the park. Also rented a boat for a day. The lodge itself is very nice and the staff are polite and kind. But if you’re looking for advice on where to hike or paddle you should talk with one of their more outdoors-knowledgeable staff, as this is not the front desk’s area of expertise. Similarly, if you require useful outdoor items such as sunscreen, bear spray, etc… Make sure you buy them in Campbell River or Gold River. The shop inside the lodge is small and mostly features branded water bottles, stickers, and local kombuchas. The boat rental was pricey, especially considering that if you have the boat out past 4:30, you can’t return it until the next day and will be charged for that day on top of your first. That being said, it’s a really nice area to paddle and we were well directed by the staff at the boat rental area. Overall the lodge contributed positively to our vacation, and if I were to stay in Strathcona with people who don’t like camping, I would likely stay here.

Many thanks to the staff at Strathcona Lodge for a wonderful few days enjoying the area. The staff are hardworking, friendly and knowledgeable. We found the food tasty with enough variety to meet everyone’s needs. The daily adventures were well run and gave me the opportunity to do things I never would have considered before. If you are looking for an air conditioned, hotel-type stay this is not for you but if you are looking to disconnect from daily distractions and reconnect to your surroundings as well as family and friends, this lodge will not disappoint.

I booked a private multi-day hiking trip with the lodge. Hugh was highly knowledgeable about the park and gave awesome trail guidance, making sure I was comfortable at all times. I can highly recommend the guided hiking and would recommend to family and friends. However, I feel differently about the lodge itself. While the surroundings were nothing short of spectacular views, the room itself was clean but fairly simple and felt not up to the price tag. Some mold in the shower, water spraying everywhere from the tap. The food, being described as "Olympic athletes tell us we’re doing something right." and "locally sourced, organic where possible, and in-season ingredients. You can always be assured that your meal has been made with the environment and your well-being in mind" was highly overpriced and didn't live up to the description online. At a price tag of 40$, they served simple dishes such as spaghetti with meatballs or rice with tomato sauce. This would have been alright for a youth hostel, but not at this hefty price tag.
